A cell line is a population of cells derived from a single cell or tissue source that has been adapted to grow continuously in vitro under defined culture conditions. Cell lines can be of mammalian, microbial, or insect origin and are used extensively in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, viral vector production, and research. Commonly used cell lines in the industry include HEK293, CHO, Vero, and SF9.
