Assay Development

Assay development is the process of designing and optimizing analytical tests used to measure the identity, potency, purity, and safety of biological products. In the context of ATMPs and viral vector manufacturing, it includes the development of cell-based potency assays, qPCR methods, ELISA, and other techniques aligned with regulatory requirements from agencies such as the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
