Advanced therapies

Advanced therapies are a category of innovative medical treatments based on genes, cells, or tissue engineering, designed to treat, prevent, or diagnose diseases by acting at a biological, genetic, or structural level. They include gene therapy, cell therapy, and tissue-engineered products, regulated as Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in the European Union, and as cellular and gene therapy products by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States.
