Adherent cell culture is a cell culture method in which cells grow attached to a solid surface, such as tissue culture-treated plastic, microcarriers, or extracellular matrix-coated substrates. Cell attachment is required for the growth and proliferation of many cell types, particularly anchorage-dependent mammalian cells.
