The collaborative initiative has successfully identified tumor-specific T cell receptors using single-cell sequencing and artificial intelligence, paving the way for future personalized cancer treatments.

3PBIOVIAN is part of the PITÁGORAS consortium, a scientific, technological and industrial collaboration bringing together leading research institutions, healthcare organizations and biotechnology companies across Navarra to accelerate the development of next-generation personalized cancer immunotherapies.

The project has enabled the identification of tumor-specific T cell receptors (TCRs) for the design of tailored cell therapies through the combination of advanced single-cell sequencing technologies and artificial intelligence tools. PITÁGORAS received €1.6 million in funding from the Department of Industry and Ecological and Digital Business Transition of the Government of Navarra.

As the industrial manufacturing partner within the consortium, 3PBIOVIAN has contributed its expertise in process development and GMP manufacturing to support the translation of scientific discoveries into future clinical applications. The company has played a key role in establishing clinical-grade production approaches for selected TCR candidates, helping create the foundations for future human clinical studies.

Among the project’s most significant achievements are the in-depth structural and biophysical characterization of promising TCR candidates and the successful development of manufacturing protocols in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. These advances represent an important step towards bringing personalized cellular therapies closer to patients.

The next stage of the project will focus on validating the findings in additional patient cohorts, refining artificial intelligence algorithms to improve the identification of tumor-specific TCRs and optimizing the most promising candidates through the development of new therapeutic formats aimed at making immunotherapies more accessible and easier to implement in clinical practice.

Driving the Future of Personalized Medicine

PITÁGORAS forms part of the GEMA strategic challenge initiatives, which promote research and technological development in personalized medicine and advanced therapies. By fostering collaboration across the region’s innovation ecosystem, these projects seek to accelerate the development of new treatments based on genetic and molecular insights while strengthening Navarra’s position as a leading hub for life sciences and biotechnology innovation.
